• Hey, i’m trying to create an Etsy like website. so i have a user created, and i want to access their dashboard (at top ‘My sites > dashboard’) and i get ‘This webpage has a redirect loop’.
I haven’t really changed anything except trying to change the htaccess file to some suggestions i found online. but nothing.
I’m a super newbie. any help???

Please revert that change, restore your backed up file, or rename to old.htaccess and at that site re-save permalink setting.

i tried restoring the htaccess file, i’ll try renaming it to old.htaccess. but what do you mean by ‘at that site re-save permalink setting’. sorry, i’m a super newb.
also, under settings > permalink settings mine is set to ‘post name’. not sure if that makes any difference?

Yes, that is what most use as it is the best for SEO.

Rename the existing file, then simply click the “Save Changes” button in permalink settings page – this will create a proper .htaccess file

    tried it all…no luck.
now i’m getting ‘404 page not found errors’ when i click on most pages??

i wanted to mention on my main site, i can still access my dashboard, add products, etc…
but when i click on a page (like products), there’s a 404 error.

i don’t get the redirect loop error anymore on my sub site, i get this 404 error now.
