"This webpage is not available" error for login screen

  • I’m in I.T. and we have a site that is hosted on-site. Everything was working just fine until Monday when we realized that we can no longer get to the wp-admin page. We see the “This webpage is not available ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED” error.

    Everything else works just fine, we just can’t get to the logon page. We’ve tried different browsers and different computer, both on and off of the internal network. Now the only wrinkle is that when I am on-site on my desktop, I CAN get to the logon page. But every other computer we’ve tried cannot.

    Also, we had an outside company make some updates to the theme for the site. But it was working just fine after they made their changes. And also again, the “administrator” for the website is not that great. My job is just to provide the server and keep that up. I have nothing to do with the day-to-day operations of the website. So it’s not totally out of the question that she didn’t screw something up and is just not admitting it.

    Any ideas out there?
