I have the same problem. but can’t find a solution. I’ll post here if I find one or work it out for myself.

Have you tried disabling all plugins? You can do this via FTP, by renaming the ‘plugins’ directory.

Thanks Christiaan. I tried renaming the website-offline plugin but it didn’t help. I’ll give your suggestion a try though.

    Regards.

Is that the only plugin you had installed?

Also, check your .htaccess file, it could have rules in there that are causing a redirect. You can paste the contents of it here and we can take a look.

It’s not from plugin i think, i found the solution for this. I just notice my hosting provider upgraded my PHP to the latest version.

you can open your error_log to find out what caused the error. In my case, there is “allow_call_time_pass_reference” has been deprecated. so i open up php.ini in my wordpress installation, search for “allow_call_time_pass_reference”, and comment it out with semicolon (;)

there probably another php.ini in wp-admin. but that depend on your host i think.

Check the permissions of the wp-logon.php file. For some reason, when I don’t log in for a few weeks or months, the permissions get reset to 0000. That causes the error “this website has a redirect loop” during login. The permissions should be 0644. This can be viewed and changed in the Filemanager on cpanel.

Hello, I also have this problem. I installed the BBPress plugin and now I can’t access the admin page and the website is not visible. It reads “This webpage has a redirect loop” and then it lists my webpage with an infinite number of ‘blog/’ after it… It suggests clearing cookies (which I did) and lists the error code: ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTS.

This site was set up by someone else and I was just populating the content. I should have admin permissions and know this was directly related to the plugin. I’m guessing it was not compatible with the way the page was set up. I can’t access it to uninstall the plugin though and am a very green WordPress user. Can anyone walk me through this in non-code terms to help me get back into the site please? Help! and thank you….
