Thoroughly Confused!!

I have been slowly working my way through creating an eCommerce artistic web site for my granddaughter. It has been a couple of decades since my last web site creation, along with some restrictive medical conditions blossoming, so I have expected things to progress slower than usual. I have not however expected things to be this slow.
There is no doubt that your plugin will perform wonderfully once I finally understand and properly set it up. To this end I am thoroughly stumped!
It would be wonderful if there was a set of instructions readily available which were simply detailed on the flow of steps to create a sample product which has 2 or 3 variations sold from a single button allowing the customer to select which variation to actually download.
EG:

• first step in creating listings for product variations
• next steps in creating the product selection process..
• when to add the descriptions, prices, ect
• when and how to add the alternate variations available to purchase and download
• continue through the steps necessary to provide a buy now button to add to the web page listing for the product.
• How the tags and attributes affect or effect the buying/selecting process

I am considered a fairly intelligent person who at times struggles with initial perception issues (light bulb moments) but the method in which this plug in is documented and presented is leaving me locked out for over a week now. I know that with the right clue I can unlock this entire process.
Any help, direction, suggestions, mythology etc. will be GREATLY appreciated.
