Thoughts on a new Plugin for Images

Admittedly I know very little about PHP. The majority of my knowledge comes from hacking and slashing code into a Frankenstein-esque creation.

I’m looking to create a VERY simple PHP template that can act as an image display. I’m hoping that by simply using ?php @ require_once (“$xx.jpg”) in conjunction with href=”xxx.php?image”I can create a dynamic template that i can use simply for displaying single images or other files.

As I said, I’m not really PHP savy. I’m assuming that this is possible but the problem is I’m having trouble creating the template page in such a way that it works within WordPress. (Namely I can’t do it in a way that calls the Header, Sidebar, and Footer.)

As I said, I’m assuming this would be a plugin so that it would fit the existing structure but I’m really not sure. Thanks for any suggestions.
