Three Blogs, One Account

I maintain three separate blogs but would like to manage them from a single Administration Panel, if possible. I installed the blogs to my host server with Softaculous and ticked the checkbox for Multisite, but I still seem to have to log in to each blog individually, so I’m afraid that something isn’t right. I am early in this process and have not made any posts yet. Should I uninstall and try again?

That’s not really what multisite is for.

I use MainWP to manage 70+ sites from a single console.

Can you please clarify the purpose of Multisite, then, and whether I should uninstall it and start again?

Each of my blogs has its own domain, but these are add-on domains with my web host. Similarly, I thought it may be possible to login to a single Wp-admin panel associated with a primary domain and be able to select which blog I want to customize or update from one menu, rather than logging out and back in depending on the blog I’m updating. However each of my blogs has a unique layout theme so perhaps this is not doable.

Multisite is a way to run multiple wordpress sites, more or less independently, from one set of wordpress / plugin / theme files. You can have different themes on each.
