three column in twentyten not displaying in other browsers

    hi. i am using a child theme of twentyten and have updated it to be three column with the coding from the thirtyten theme. The three columns work in firefox but not in explorer or chrome.
    I used the fix aaron job suggests:
    #access{overflow: visible;}
    #main{clear: both;}

    not sure why it’s not working.
