Thumbnail Archive Help

This should be relatively simple to solve. I would think so anyway.

Basically, I’ve got a archive template page running a WP_query to get excerpts (which is where I put the thumbnails). The only problem is that the excerpts list down the page as opposed to across it. WP is generating paragraph breaks, I think. Anyway of overriding this?
