I’m having trouble with NextGEN Gallery in Prestige theme. It’s worked flawlessly before, but now thumbnails are the wrong shape (should be square) and size. And the Gallery display and navigation doesn’t work (only simple image boxes appear when clicking on thumbnails). No navigation to additional images as has appeared /worked previously.

The same problem occurs with 2.0.7 and when rolled back to 1.9.12.

I have run through your first three suggestions (to no avail) before posting this thread.

NextGEN is up to date: 2.0.40

    – What version of NextGEN Gallery did you upgrade from? Not sure.

    – MySQL up to date (at least 5.2.4)?
    – The mod_rewrite Apache module activated?
    – PHP Safe Mode OFF?
    The 3 above are CONFIRMED

    – PHP up to date (at least 5.0)?
No, the host says their highest setting for any package is 5.1

    Hosted with 1&1
    Theme: Prestige Light
    – Does this error still occur if you switch your theme to the WP default, and deactivate all plugins except NextGEN Gallery?
    Yes. It persists.

    Please HELP!

I’m having one (and only one) of the same issue and also using Prestige.
–> No navigation to additional images from the lightbox

Lightbox wasn’t working at first but the theme author suggested inserting rel=”lightbox”
in the code box in advanced options in the ngg/lightbox menu. That solved the issue and brought up a lightbox instead of linking to the image url BUT no links to next or previous images came up. So…

I too rolled back ( to 1.9.13) and the missing navigation from image to image persists.

    Any help would be welcomed.

@bluemoonpaul – It appears you are using a hosting enviroment that is below the current WordPress minimum PHP version of 5.2.4. Please see this link: https://www.ads-software.com/about/requirements/

I find it very difficult to believe any hosting service providing space for site using WordPress would not at least meet that requirement. You may want to share the link with them so they can address this issue.

You can try our latest beta version (see this page: https://www.nextgen-gallery.com/nextgen-gallery-latest-beta/) but my concern is it will still not provide the functionality you are missing due to the PHP issue at hand.

@boardtraveller – Although similar, your issue is most likely going to be vastly different and you should start your own topic if moving up to our latest beta version does not sort out the issue for you.

    Thanks!

    – Cais.

Someone else from 1&1 just got back to me and says my current hosting package sports PHP version 5.4.

So, if that’s the case, what might my issues be instead?
