Thumbnail Not Displaying On Social Shares

    Hi All,

    Recently I noticed when I try to share my WordPress posts on social sites such as Facebook or Twitter, that no thumbnail is populating. I use Yoast SEO.

    When I ran a shared URL on the Sharing Debugger tool on Facebook, I got the following warnings:

    1) The ‘og:image’ property should be explicitly provided, even if a value can be inferred from other tags.

    2) The following required properties are missing: og:url, og:type, og:title, og:image, og:description, fb:app_id

    Does anyone have any suggested fixes?

    We are sorry to hear that you’re having an issue with the image thumbnail when sharing on Facebook. We looked at the relevant page and see that Yoast SEO isn’t generating any open graph meta tag. Please, make sure that you haven’t disabled the Facebook open graph from the SEO → Social → Facebook (tab).

    In addition, please make sure that not any 3rd party plugins are disabling the open graph meta generated by Yoast SEO.

    Thank you! I’m not sure when it disabled and I couldn’t locate the setting before. All resolved.
