• I just (I know, FINALLY) upgraded to 2.3.

When I post, using the visual editor, and upload a picture, it now only offers to send it to the editor as “full size” or “title”.

    What happened to “thumbnail”??

    Thanks!

Just bumping this up to see if anyone can help.

    Thank you!!

I’m having the same problem and some more after upgrading to 233.
I cannot upload any photos unless I chmod 777 the “uploads”, and “month” folder.
Last month folder has chmod 755 and it worked just fine.
However regarding your post, yes I only have the “title” and “full size” options.
I also have a separate php script installed on the same website but on a different mysql database.
I’m having there too problems with uploading the photos, in fact I can upload them but they will not show.
    Strange huh ?

I am having this issue as well. I can upload fine but thumbnails are not created anymore. There is no option to send a thumbnail to the editor even on previously uploaded pictures where a thumb was created.

Does the thumbnail get created? Is it there in the uploads directory when you look with FTP?

How big are these pictures? Resolution, I mean, not filesize.

Otto, same problem over here. I’ve looked with FTP, no thumbnails are being created in uploads. Resolutions are something like: 179×119 pixels etc. No errors in the logs whatsoever. Maybe a missing GD2 or something? Can’t find the requirementslist of server software that must be available on the server ??

Yes, checked out phpinfo, my php5 didn’t had any GD support. A “aptitude install php5-gd” and a /etc/init.d/apache2 reload did the trick! (I love Debian ;-))

I guess when you’re with a hosting company, send a mail to the sysop and question him/her for gd-support in php.

    Good luck!

I’m having the same problem too.

2.3.1 running locally is fine, but 2.3.2 running on the server omits the “Thumbnail” option. I have emailed the host, and they insist that GD is running. I’ve not got PodPress installed (which some threads cite as the culprit).

Image sizes are fine (tested the same image with both versions)

    Any ideas gratefully received.

    Thanks

    JL

Same here with WP 2.3.3 the thumbnail is created on the server (I can see it) but there is no thumbnail option when uploading on the post. To Yesterday it was working, and suddenly this option gones.
