Hi – please save my sanity! I’ve created a test site locally, & am in the process of re-creating it online. It’s a Woocommerce site, using Media Library Folders, & I want to be able to use non-square product images without them being cropped to cut half the image off. I’ve achieved locally this by unticking the hard crop option & regenerating thumbnails locally, but cannot for the life of me get the same to work remotely – I still get oddly cropped thumbnails on the product list & main product pages; the lightbox image is fine.
Is there another hard crop tick box I’ve forgotten about? Something else? I’m going mad!

Thanks in anticipation – though this may of course be a WordPress / Woocommerce issue . . .

Media Library Folders does not have any features for customizing thumbnails images. You could try adding a new thumbnail size to your site and see if that would help. See this article, https://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-create-additional-image-sizes-in-wordpress/.

Well at least that’s what I thought; I even woke up during the ngiht wondering if there were additional thumbnaill options. Unfortunately that doesn’t get me any closer to the answer; I don’t want to set new thumbnail sizes as I’d like all thumbnails to take on the same proportions as their original product images, and I come back to my puzzle: I’ve just uploaded a test image to the local site, and the thumbnail shows perfectly as a long thin rectangle; upload the same image to the remote site, and the thumbnail appears as a cropped square, with only part of the product showing. And yet – as far as I’m aware – all other settings are identical.

Assuming it’s nothing to do with Media Library Folders (for which many thanks, btw), I’ll post the query on the WordPress forum.

PS – Do I need to do anything else about https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/spaces-in-filenames/#post-9555438 ? Thanks

In the next release, the title of the image that is saved in the database will allow spaces and it will not include the file extension. Spaces will still not be allows in the file names.

Great – thank you very much; look forward to it! Will it work retrospectively or only on new uploads?
