As a follow up, I do have some custom-css but I removed all of it and it did not resolve the issue.

I’m having the same issue, the thumbnails are set to 80x80px but the images displayed much larger.
You can see the posts at the bottom of the homepage.

When i first installed the plugin a couple of weeks ago it was working fine.

    Thanks

    Hello all,

we had the same bug issue here a while ago:
“… We think it isn’t from the Widget, because when you destingish the widget and define it new on the same place and with the same options the image size settings works. …”

    Best regards

Do you think it is a conflict with a theme? Do you by chance know any custom CSS that would allow me to ensure that the thumbnail is locked at the size I want?

    Thank you

    Hello,

@all: Delete and set the widget new (appearance> widgets). This would help or it doesn’t?

I think it isn’t a CSS issue, because the img attributs width and height are setted wrong (https://www.dropbox.com/s/kuosx79snilh9np/jeffreyrife.png?dl=0). There is no CSS. Here the img attributs are from the widget setted correct: https://www.dropbox.com/s/1tkb1484bljviym/localhost.png?dl=0

The widget use the very simple WP funktion the_post_thumbnail for writing the img tag and setting this img attributs. All HTML output (img tag) is genrated by this function with parameters from the widget which are stored in the DB!

(WP has a bug to update widget settings in the DB. Here after some unknown steps. But here is not the right place to discuss this bug. Or would some one help me? https://core.trac.www.ads-software.com/ticket/33874)

Reset the widget new will work.

    Greetings
    Daniel

I deleted your widget and my custom css and then re-added your widget and it still would not resize my thumbnails.

Thank you for all of your help with this. I love your widget otherwise!

What is weird is that your widget is definitely shrinking my image because what displays on my site is not width=”6016″ height=”2447″. I mean, the much larger image in the slider above it is 500×700.

I am using PageBuilder plugin from Origins. Could this be part of the issue?

    Hello Jeffreyrife,
I use your Theme “Ultra” and I try to place the widget with PageBuilder and the thumbnail size works for my.
The bug is not caused by CSS, because the img attributs width and height were not write correct by WP: https://www.dropbox.com/s/kuosx79snilh9np/jeffreyrife.png?dl=0

Can you place the widget to an second place and to the normal sidebar, pleace?

    Thread Starter jeffreyrife

    (@jeffreyrife)

I fully agree that it is not a CSS issue.

I placed the widget to different columns in the PageBuilder rows and each time the image resizes to fill the column. If the column is set to 33%, the size is larger. If the column is set to 10%, the thumbnail is smaller.

I am having issues trying to add a normal sidebar to run this test.

    Thanks!

We have a bugfix for the thumbnail size issue and release it with the next update.

    Greetings
    Daniel

I am having the same issue with thumbnail size on this page under the widget title TRAUMA & HEALING: https://sisterhoodagenda.com/articles/. When do you think the update will be available?

    (@kometschuh)

    Helle SisterhoodAgenda,
arme you familair with GitHub? Because you can download the code there (https://github.com/mkrdip/category-posts-widget) and copy it to your plugin folder ([your-wp-installation]/wp-content/plugins/category-posts-widget) to your wordpress installation.

    Greetings Daniel

I deactivated and deleted the old version of the plugin, installed and activated the newest version and all is fixed. It looks quite beautiful! Thank you for a great plugin and responsive support.
