• On this page of my client’s website:

    https://www.abloomhighlandsranch.com/corporate-events/

All of the thumbnails down to the ones with the white backgrounds were the same size, portrait orientation, showing a cropped view of each photo, three columns per page. When clicked on, each one would open to a full view of the photo, whether portrait or landscape. I added text, then have been trying to get all the images to show the same way in the thumbnails, but instead things have gone terribly wrong.

NGG is the only plugin running. This website has only the basic style as my original design of the site was translated into WP, so there are no special styles, etc.

I have tried to adjust things in the Gallery Settings, but apparently am not doing something right.

Also, I am not a web human. I am learning WP, and trying to learn NGG, but I do not have coding skills, so if you can explain things VERY SIMPLY, that would be truly appreciated.

@macatsnap – My first thought is you are using the “captions” template which will for all intent and purpose ignore any other customization settings you may be using.

Templates are hold-overs from the old NextGEN Legacy version … if you want to have the image thumbnails all be the same size and use the captions template you will need to make sure the images are all the same aspect ratio and create their thumbnails from those images.

    Hi!

Sorry I didn’t reply sooner. Must have missed the notification. I appreciate your response, though!

I don’t know that I am using any template. How can I find out? And before whatever happened, all thumbnails were portrait-oriented, cropped versions of the original photos, regardless of the size/orientation of the original photo. When a thumbnail was clicked on, it would open into a larger, complete image, along with arrows to navigate to the next/previous one. Click that image and it would close.

Now I can still click on the images and get them to open, but the thumbnails are squished or stretched to fit everything into the thumbnail frame itself.

    Still searching…

@macatsnap – This is reading rather oddly, it may be worth while submitting a Bug Report (https://www.nextgen-gallery.com/report-bug/ … please reference this topic) so we can get a look under the page and try to help you sort out this issue.

We will need log in and FTP credentials for your WordPress installation as well, please include those with the Bug Report.

    Thanks!

    – Cais.
