• (click the red/purple motorcycle icon in the center of the image map, near the map of a lake — it should open to Knights Ferry…)

I have defined and inserted a MaxGalleria gallery into a Popup Maker popup (using Popup Maker’s classic editor). There are two images defined for the gallery. The thumbnail images show up correctly when you view the gallery itself from within the site dashboard environment.

However, when the popup loads from within the actual page both of the thumbnails are grayed out. If you click either one the correct picture opens up in the lightbox…but the thumbnails are nowhere to be seen.

I’ve tried regenerating the thumbnails, and regenerating all thumbnails, to no avail. I tried turning off the lazy loading feature of the image grid, and that didn’t solve the problem either.

    Suggestions?

I have visited the tioga-and-sonora-passes page and as far as I can tell, there are no popup warnings from the browser, I am not seeing a popup which I would need to view in order to check on the output of the thumbnail code.

Not sure why you’re not seeing the image map. I screen captured some images showing what you need to click, and the resulting popup with the missing gallery thumbnails, but there doesn’t appear to be any way to upload/attach pictures on this support forum.

I’ve stored the images in a shared OneDrive folder: https://arcabama-my.sharepoint.com/:f:/p/mark/EurmzxGSOkxKoGgC-Ata5H4Bn6XxOLnqJQ2OSp1KVR7r6g?e=XqaRYs

If you open the imagemap.png file you’ll see I highlighted the icon on the imagemap you need to click in a red rectangle.

If you open the missing.png file you’ll see what comes up in Google Chrome when you click that highlighted icon. The empty gray squares are the missing thumbnails.

BTW, I navigated to the same site with Firefox and the thumbnails >>do<< show up. So I tried clearing the Google Chrome cache of everything from the last week (which predates when I created that particular blog entry), but the thumbnails are still missing. I don’t want to clear the Chrome cache further back because it’s a PITA to have to re-enter credentials and what not. But if you have other steps I can take with Chrome to try and solve the problem I’m all ears.

Okay, some bizarre (to me :)) behavior that I’m noticing in Chrome…

I thought I’d open up the debugger (F12) and look at the source code for the array of missing thumbnails (I’d navigated to the popup screen first, confirming that the thumbnails were indeed still missing).

In the course of doing that I expanded the Chrome window a bit so I could see more of the displayed page in addition to its source code.

As soon as I expanded the display a few pixels the thumbnails filled in! I’ve since confirmed that the change is not permanent — if you close the tab, open a new one and navigate to the site the thumbnails are missing. But the fix is reproducible — if you expand the Chrome window by a few pixels the thumbnails instantly fill in.

I thought this might have something to do with the lazy loading setting, which is enabled by default. I >>thought<< I’d tried disabling lazy loading before I contacted you, and found that it didn’t solve the problem.

But re-disabling lazy loading appears to be solving the problem. Does that make sense to you given what I’ve been describing?

I’ll continue testing and post what I learn.

Yes, it make sense because the popup maybe located outside of the viewport and has no way of triggering the loading of lazy load images.
