    Hi

I’m using Divi’s video module + Vimeo and trying to get lazy load working, when I install the plugin, I see the play icons appear, but no thumbnails, if I click the play button then vimeo does appear.

I pressed the ‘update posts’ button, and also the save changes ones

I’ve tried “thumbnail covering video element”, and also “contained within video element”

I think I am deleting cache, I don’t have a wordpress cache plugin, in-between each change I goto chrome > delete browsing data and I tick “cached images and files”

If you click on my site link, I may or may not have disabled the plugin as it is a live site and I need it working for my customers, not sure how to make a test environment for this

    thanks

    Tom

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

OK I turned off the plugin for now just for my customers. so its default for now with no lazy loading

OK I found that divi video module has its own ‘overlay’ image I can activate, turned on your plugin now too, not sure if this is optimised but I dont see any ‘use a facade for vimeo’ type warnings on the pagespeed website anymore

OK, I did some more testing, I found that If I used the plugin plus divi’s video overlays then I can’t click the buttons

if I disable the lazy load plugin it adds about 2.5s extra load speed, and it adds “Some third-party resources can be lazy loaded with a facade?” so the plugin must be doing something

But even with the plugin on, adding 12x vimeo videos to the page increases my load speed 2.2s, which seems a lot for 12 images (that I can’t currently click on)

    OK so…
I can use divi video modules ‘backgrounds’ instead of ‘overlays’ then the play button from the plugin will appear, and I can click correctly, performance not great though, page takes 4.8s to load

not really sure if ‘speed index’ is so important anyway? the page feels slow to load for me, but it gets decent FCP and LCP scores on pagespeed
