That sounds like the db updates didn’t run at all. You can either try to update things manually, or just restore from backup and run test conversions on 2-3 at a time to make sure it works this time.

Just so I can make sure we don’t have a regression, did you use the bulk optimizer to convert them all at once?

Coincidentally, when I went to test this out, I happened to use one of my test sites with WooCommerce and had the exact same problem.

I’ve found the source of the problem, and I think there is an easy fix. You should be able to run the Regenerate Thumbnails plugin on any problematic images. The root of the issue is that WooCommerce registers 3 duplicate sizes/thumbs, and when the conversion routine gets to the duplicates, it can’t find anything to convert anymore, so it skips those sizes.

I would try that on just one image first, and enable EWWW IO’s debugging option (Support tab). Then, you can click the Show Metadata button to see if all the thumbs have correct metadata, rather than a mix of JPG/PNG thumbs.

Then I realized, “hey, I can test that out!” And it worked, so that’s definitely the route I would recommend.

Thanks… I’ve done this but it regenerates but says .png at the end of every file… i.e

Yes I did optimise by running bulk optimiser… and deleted old images so now I have all jpg ??

    Regeneration Log

    Regenerated 66857-full.png
    Regenerated 44297-full.png
    Regenerated 66963-full.png
    Regenerated 66957-full.png
    Regenerated 62813-full.png

Surely these should be .jpg now?

    Many thanks
