    Hi Martin!

First, thanks for a great plugin which does exactly what I want 90% of the time. There’s one problem – and it may not really be a problem with Ultimate Post List but I’ll post it here for your opinion when you have the time.

I’m using the Ultimate Post List Pro widget to show recent blog posts in specific categories in the left or right-hand columns of my blog. See this page as an example:
    https://www.thesupercargo.com/alchemist/

(I have the latest WP update – 4.9.6 – and I’m using a child theme of the latest version – 2.1.2 – of Generate Press.)

Sometimes when I check the look of a post the Ultimate Post List Pro pulls the text I want, but does not pull the thumbnail. When this happens it doesn’t matter if I reload the page, the thumbnails still don’t show up.

If I go to Ultimate Post List Pro from my dashboard, choose All lists and then the specific list, I can’t see that anything has changed from how I set it up. If I then change something – for example if I uncheck “Use aspect ratios of original images” – and save the list, then return to the page that was displaying wrong and refresh it, the thumbnails reappear. Then I have to go through the process again to check and save “Use aspect ratios of original images”, refresh the page and the thumbnails are back looking as I want them.

I’m guessing this is some sort of caching problem? Perhaps a glitch with Jetpack’s Photo picture server? (Though switching off Photon doesn’t seem to make a difference.)

I can’t reproduce this failure to order – it just happens sometimes, two or three times a month. The text (heading and extract) always seem to be pulled without difficulty, so I’ll live with it, but if you have any suggestions for something I might try, please let me know.

    Thanks

    john

I assume a Lazy Load function as the reason.

    Ooops! Sorry I never replied.

Yes. It must be something like that. I’ve fiddled around, but I don’t really know what I’m doing. The problem continues, but I’ll live with it.
