I’m using the tribbiani theme https://wpdemo.rohitink.com/, I’ve made more than several attempts at contacting the author of this theme, however I’ve heard nothing back and after the amount of time that’s past, I do not expect to.

So forgive me as my issue certainly should be something that someone her could give me some insight into.

I’m unable to put the thumbnails into the landing page widgets, the existing themes I use simply require that I set the image using the ‘feature image’ function found in the posting page. And just like some other themes, I’m unable to load the images due to the error message that ‘cannot create directory’, and that being the standard /wp-content/uploads/… I’m still not certain how to repair that error.

I’ve also tried to add the image <img src=”…> in the ‘excerpt field, but it does not appear in the landing page widget.

I’d like to think I know how to work this out, but the fact is I don’t have a clue. I do feel however it is an easy fix, this information doesn’t register for me https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Function_Reference/post_class The fact is I’m simply not learned enough, would someone be kind enough to point me in the direction of finding the method of adding the thumbnails in the landing page widget? Thank you in advance

It sounds like you have permissions issues on your uploads folders. The permissions required vary by host and theme. You want the permissions as tight as possible while allowing full functionality. Refer to Changing File Permissions. If you’re still not sure what to do, try setting uploads folder and all folders under it to 755. For individual file permissions, try 644.

Adding images for your theme should be straight forward if the permissions are correct. The image slider on the home page is unrelated to featured images of posts. The theme does have featured image support enabled, they should be showing up on the single post page.

The home page slider images are added using the media uploader accessed from the edit slider page in the back end. I do believe the file permissions are the cause of your image problems in the theme as well.

    Hi bcworkz,

Thanks for your prompt reply, the issue wasn’t the slider image, but the post widgets. I checked the permissions for the directory first thing when I had the issue, however I didn’t select the correct ones as you said, they vary from server to server.

I’ve worked it out and again, thanks for your reply.
