• Hi,

I would just love to be able to Like or somehow provide a positive thumbs up to forum topics that help me out of problems, but which are closed to all future replies. ??

For what reason would you like this, i.e. what problem are you trying to solve?

I would like a way of being able to say thank you to useful posts that are otherwise closed to replies. I wouldn’t exactly call this a problem.

So maybe not a thumbs up technique because that has other effects you don’t want; like bettering an answer over another answer.

I was thinking of a thumbs up on the entire thread, not any given contribution to the thread.

    I see! Interesting!

Or maybe a thread could accumulate thumbs up from anyone who reads the post and decides that it was helpful. It wouldn’t have to be a ranking system pushing certain posts to the top but anyone diving into the threads would be able to see “__ number of people found this helpful”

We’ve talked about that, and it’s on the docket for something we may do, hwever any features like that require us to rewrite the whole system, which is cumbersome and daft :/

Yeah, that is completely understandable. It would be a very appreciated feature if you do end up deciding to implement it.
