Tickets and email not being sent after purchase

Hi,
My webhooks have now been validated – thank you! – but I’m afraid I’ve run into another issue. I did a couple of test transactions with Stripe test card numbers and they worked, though I didn’t get any email confirmation with tickets. So I tried a real transaction, which also went through OK, and I got a Stripe email receipt, but still no tickets email, though the number of tickets showing as available went down. And there are no details of ticket buyers on WordPress – only on Stripe.
Do I have to install another e-commerce plugin, such as WooCommerce, to “approve” a sale and manage attendees through WordPress? I was hoping to avoid this. Or do I have to “approve” a sale in Stripe (can’t see where I can do this) for the tickets email to be generated?
Same info as before: WP 6.1.1, Vantage theme 1.20.7, Event Tickets 5.5.7, Events Calendar 6.0.9
