While testing Tickets Commerce (with Event Tickets 5.2.1 on WP 5.8.2) in sandbox mode, I’m finding both the setup and the user’s ticket purchasing experience vastly improved over the old Tribe Commerce gateway EXCEPT that a user purchasing tickets with credit card while NOT LOGGED IN is not prompted for their email address and therefore does not receive an email confirmation from PayPal or an emailed e-ticket. The purchase appears in View Attendees and View Orders but with “Unkown” for Primary Information and Purchaser respectively.
Clearly, this is unworkable for non logged in users. Although a workaround would be to require all purchasers to register on our website and log in before purchasing, I hope to avoid this. It wasn’t necessary with Tribe Commerce and I don’t see why it should be necessary with Tickets Commerce.

    Hi @rob66bnu,

Thank you for reaching out to us, and sorry for the delayed response. As I mentioned on my other response, We’re experiencing a high support queue after Black Friday and that’s affecting our response time.

As you mentioned theres the option to require users to be logged in to purchase tickets, and the other option would be installing Event Tickets Plus and using the Individual Attendee Collection. https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/k/collecting-attendee-information-for-tickets/

We’re working in order to possibly consider different options here. And you’re right that it wasn’t necessary with Tribe Commerce. The main difference there is that users were always using their emails. We’re considering different options to solve this one.

Thanks for your patience and support.

    Best,
    Juan.

I can now confirm that the update released in version 5.3 does resolve the issue, allowing us to sell tickets without requiring users to log in. If the purchaser is NOT logged in, the “get tickets” dialog now prompts them for their Name and the Email address they want the tickets sent to. If they ARE logged in, the dialog goes straight to payment method and the system uses the Name and Email address from their user profile. Perfect. Thanks.
