Hi there!
Thanks for reaching out to us
It’s extremely unlikely for our chat to have any negative effect on your website loading speed or its performance in general since it loads asynchronously. This basically means that it’s loading independently of the key elements of your website and it doesn’t stop website parsing. The crucial resources aren’t impacted and the chat goes at its own pace, instead of waiting for content to be loaded first.
Tidio is already the lightest product on the market and optimizing it even further, would cost us functionality.
You should not be worried about Tidio slowing down your website, because it has little to no effect on your page loading speed ??
Have a nice day and stay safe!
Hey
I have tested with Google Lighthouse and I am seeing that the official Tidio chat plugin is affecting the page score.
I did a search for Tidio chat plugin speed, and came across this plugin: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/kp-fastest-tidio-chat/
Bottom line is that Google is releasing stronger criteria for load speed of a site. What about looking at the kp fastest tidio chat plugin and taking the good parts from it into the official Tidio chat plugin?
An update. Hey Art and whomever else reads this.
I suggest you follow this tutorial:
https://w3lessons.info/coverage-tab-of-google-dev-tools-to-find-dead-code/I followed the tutorial and it found some “dead” cache files that I deleted. That improved a few things. Now I just need to continue finding other things that are affecting the Performance.

Thanks for the links, Paal
The statement by Olekoftidio is not true as far as “page load” and I have proven it more than once but I still get the same response. The numbers don’t lie.
I found another plugin much better and shows no signs of any script with lighthouse and GTMetrix. After uninstalling Tidio the GT went from an “E” to a “B” (2.2 secs) Dev. went from an 18 to a 68 (14 secs to 5.4 secs) and remained there after I installed the new one. The fact is this is the third time I have posted about this issue and no one either couldn’t resolve the problem or didn’t want to. Another thing is I got the same response from Tidio each time (copy?). I removed it from all my sites. I don’t need the hassle.Thank you for the contribution Paal
Hello again Art
I have been working on the performance of a site, and this Tidio plugin is affecting the Performance by about 10 points. I will need to look into the alternative plugin I linked to above.
Hopefully Tidio can improve the official plugin so that it will minimally affect the performance score at gtmetrix and PageSpeed Insights.
Thanks, Paal, but I have already dumped the plugin from all my sites and have no intentions of using it again. See the thing is this is the third time I reported this and instead of actually checking on the issue support just said it was not possible and blew me off. Us website managers don’t need support like that just because we use the free sides of the plugins and won’t pay for the premiums until we are sure that we can assure our clients that they are worth the investment. Just because the developer adds an “async” to it does not mean it’s going to prevent it from killing the speed. Maybe try to defer it instead.
In total, I have wasted nearly 3 months of my time and listening to client complaints about how their clients were dropping chat connections because of time outs and other issues. I don’t need it and neither do they. Maybe someday Tidio will get the big picture and do something about it after they lose a few hundred people as clients. I should not have to qualify and/or have the experience as a developer or hire one for that matter to fix something that has never been right in the first place. Thank you for the update but I’m done with it and have moved on.Hey, @art137 , @paaljoachim , would you be able to share the theme you were using on sites on which you saw the degraded performance caused by Tidio? We’ve made substantial changes to the way our widget is loaded and would love to share the “before and after” effect of these changes.
I have the same problem here @olektidio , thinking about uninstalling Tidio from all my clients.
I ran some tests with and without Tidio and got this:
With Tidio Time to Interactive and fully loaded time of page went from 2.2s to 11s
Grade Went from 71/88 to 55/82.
And the warning about “Avoid long main-thread tasks” is gonne either.
