Tiles overlap on staggered grid on iPad

I have four events showing in a staggered view. Inserted as shortcode. I have disabled all other views and filters in the settings. Looks fine on pc (chrome and edge) as well as on iPhone and Android. But on my iPad mini 6 the tiles become oversized (about double size) and overlap. I can refresh the page in the browser and it will initially look fine but as soon as I scroll a little bit up or down, all four tiles become bigger and overlap.
