• Many posts posted to WP websites have a limited lifespan. For example on an eCommerce site posts may well relate to a special offer or deal only available for a specific time period or up to a certain date. An example would be Black Friday Deals.

At the moment it is necessary to remember these and then go back to them to remove them when they become out of date or visitors are likely to view posts that are no longer valid.

I wonder if it would not be possible to provide a facility on posts where they could expire after a certain date and automatically be moved to Trash or Drafts so they no longer appear live on the site. Moving to a draft would be useful where the post could be reused if it was a recurring item and could then just be updated avoiding the need to rewrite the post repeatedly.

This is an option provided when banner ads are posted, for example, where you set an expiry date and the ad disappears from that date.

As it is clearly possible to do this with ads I would not imagine it would be difficult to include a similar facility with posts as the option to delete or change a post to draft already exists in a manual form.

    Just an idea anyway.
