Time Zones

Just checked and time seems fine and same on Meetup as well as website. Please let us know still help needed.

I have a workaround. The times you are seeing are UTC (no offset, site-wide in wp) with “Display Time Zone” disabled in TEC. Its technically the incorrect time

Both my meetups and site are PDT (until Nov 4); the times are off 7 hours when the site and server is configured correctly for America/Los Angeles time. Shouldn’t have to change the time zone to “trick” the plugin into displaying correct numbers??

I have the same issue with times being off. I changed the time zone to London to get mine to display NY timezone correctly.

This issue has still not been resolved, with internal pro tickets. All the Meetup groups I import are Los Angeles/America (currently UTC-8). All intended visitors are in same time zone. The UTC offset for any event is available in API. Not sure why it cannot be applied during import

The issue still lingering with my workaround above is that the Event is “passed” 8 hours before it starts. And TEC changes to the next day at 4pm instead of midnight.

To show how nutty it becomes, I have a countdown to next event on home page (https://www.hikingwithdean.com). When it shows less than 8 hours to next event, and visitor clicks on event, the event is passed!

Its either that or have the wrong times displayed on the event. There has got to be a different way

Sorry for the delayed reply. we have fixed this issue and will release plugin soon. meanwhile can you please download and replace current version of plugin with this https://github.com/xylusthemes/import-meetup-events/archive/master.zip. please make sure that plugin’s folder name should be import-meetup-events.

Let us know if you still have same issue after replace plugin.

I’ve replaced the plugin. BTW, I am still using both free and pro together (1.4). Is that still the proper config? I replaced the free plugin with the new one and did not change anything in pro folder.

I set WP to Los Angeles (currently same as utc-7). It seems to be working, with best results when TEC is set for manual timezone. Some past events are still wrong. I’ll do some more testing with new event imports.

Past events will be same, from now it should be have proper time zone.

Hi,

The events are back to showing utc time instead of detecting wp timezone. Maybe last update did something? Should I install master again?
