Timely All-In-One-Calendar makes constant requests to database

[ Moderator note: moved to How-to and Troubleshooting. ]
I have installed the Timely All-In-OneCalendar on a website for a few years now and it suites our need very well. However it has been incrementally consuming more and more resource on the website over time. It is now becoming unworkable, slowing up the website and often throwing up 508 Resource Limit Reached warning pages. I really need to understand/fix this issue. Please can you help?
I have noted that when I look at the raw access file (via cpanel) there are many requests being made by the timely calendar seemingly all the time (approx 2 requests per sec). An example of these requests are pasted in at the bottom of this post. If I look at the Bandwidth (via Metrics section on the cpanel) It seems from the graph that this is using between 2.5/3MB/min whereas other site I look after use nothing like this amount of bandwidth.
I presume this is what’s causing the site to be incredibly slow and throw up 508 resource limit has been reached pages all the time. Has anyone had a similar experience?
Having googled around and read various posts it seems that other people may have experienced this some years back (see this post from 2 years ago https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/max-cpu-usage/page/2. However, in this conversion I cannot find the “frequency of view cache purging” option that they suggest to change, apparently located in the calendar’s Advanced settings tab in Dashboard -> Events -> Settings. Also this conversation is also about a much earlier version of Timely’s calendar (1.10.11) so I’m not 100% convinced that this is relevant to the current version (2:3.12). It does however, seem that that resource usage by the Timely plugin is a recurring problem for many people.
Please can anyone help me to resolve this most frustrating issue. ( as mentioned earlier, a few of the requests in the raw access file are pasted at the bottom of this post and I have included my setup as well FYI)
Many thanks in advance
Phil
