Skipped due to a timeout error. You can increase the request timeout to make sure Smush has enough time to process larger files. define('WP_SMUSH_API_TIMEOUT', 150);.

  • Hi @lukeoko,

Can you try adding that code inside your wp-config.php file (located in root WP folder) just above the /* That’s all, stop editing! Happy blogging. */ line and see if it works after that?

    I tried with 1500 same error is displayed. define(‘WP_SMUSH_API_TIMEOUT’, 1500);

I am now on: 10209/12154 images optimized

Before 10000 images I got this message very rarely. now is this error each time I run optimize button

    Hi @lukeoko,

Can you check if you have any broken images where the Smush has started showing this error constantly?
You can go to your media library and switch to list view there.
Now, the page shows 20 images by default so if you didn’t change that you should switch to page 510 or 511 and you should see your unoptimized images there.
Now try to manually smush the first one and see if it will fail again and if it does check if the image can be properly opened on your site.

Let us know how it goes.

    images are corectly displayed.

If I do it manualy one by one I have to press the button (twice). Then it is processed ok.

    Hi @lukeoko,

Hmm, that’s strange, I was expecting that manual will fail so it would show us a corrupted image that we could investigate further…

Can you try increasing timeout to 300 with the code we talked about above to see if that will help as it seems that there’s some limitation on your server that’s causing smush to take more time to optimize images and that’s why bulk smush fails.

Let us know how it goes.

    Hello,
I didnt modify further. All went throught. All done.
It was just temporary problem. I dont know why. I emptied cached files also. I dont know if that helped or no.

    Thanks for your help

    Hi @lukeoko,

It’s possible that the server had a high load that caused it to need to more time to process the request and that caused timeout issues.

I’m glad to hear it’s working now ??

I’ll mark the ticket as resolved but if you do have any followup questions feel free to reopen it.
