• Hello CompressX Support Team,

I’m experiencing issues when attempting to use the plugin. When trying to convert images, I receive the following error message:

compressx_request: timeout(timeout): an error occurred when scan images. This error may be request not reaching or server not responding. Please try again later.

Additionally, when I try to connect the plugin to Cloudflare, I get this error:

Connecting to Cloudflare failed: Authentication error (err code: 10000)

I’ve attempted some troubleshooting, including verifying server connectivity and checking my Cloudflare credentials, but the issue persists. Could you provide guidance on how to resolve these errors?

    Thank you for your assistance.

    Hi @alanarena

The timeout error occurred at the image scanning process, and there could be two situations:

    1. There were too many images and the scanning could not be completed in 30 seconds.
    2. The scanning encountered unknown errors which caused it to be interrupted.

So, just to clarify, did you get the error immediately when the process started, or after about 30 seconds?

Also, how many images were there on the site?

You can also check whether there are any related errors recorded in the PHP error log.

Regarding the Cloudflare error, it can be related to the permissions of the Cloudflare API token. It is recommended that you check whether you have entered correct Global API Key. You should be able to find it on your Cloudflare dashboard > My Profile > API Tokens > Global API Key. For more details, you can read this Cloudflare doc.

    Hi @tonyrobins,

Thanks for your response and guidance.

Regarding the timeout error, it occurred approximately 30 seconds after the scan began. Our site has a large volume of images – over 200,000 – so this may indeed be contributing to the issue. Do you have any recommendations on how to handle such a high image count more effectively with the plugin, or if there’s a way to extend the scan timeout limit?

As for the Cloudflare connection, I managed to resolve the authentication issue.

Thanks again for your assistance, and I look forward to any suggestions you may have for addressing the scan timeout.

    Hello @alanarena

    Just a quick update:

We just released a new version – 0.9.19 where we have optimized the scanning method to scan images in batches if there are a great number of images on a website.

You can update the plugin and see if the issue resolved.

    Hi @tonyrobins,

Thank you for the quick update and the new version release.

I updated the plugin and did some tests by restricting most folders to reduce the number of images detected. When limited to around 3,500 images, the scan completed successfully, which wasn’t possible before the update – so that’s great progress.

However, when I expand the scope to around 150,000 images, the scan still doesn’t complete. Additionally, after detecting the 3,500 images, the conversion process didn’t start automatically.

Are there any further adjustments or settings I could try to improve stability with larger volumes and initiate the conversion after detection?

Thanks again for the ongoing support!

    Best regards,
    Alan

    Hello @alanarena

    You are welcome.

Would you send us a debug zip through the Debug tab of the plugin to help further identify the issue?

Please also include a link to this thread when you do that to help us track the issue.
