Timeout Sending Test message

Im i am trying to set up email on a new site and server.

I have another site and server which works fine with this plugin.

When using the same settings on the new server, sending a test email, it appears to timeout, abut 5 minutes later the email comes through.

Now with this server, i want to use smtp.office365.com 587, using telnet, smtp.gmail.com 587 works, but office does not.

So it appears i have two issues, 1) the plugin is not working correctly on this instance i.e timing out 2) For some reason i can not connect to mtp.office365.com 587

Has anyone else successfully connected to office 365?
