  • Yep – makes the plugin fairly useless unless you happen to be in the timezone that the plugin assumes.

Hi there, we actually have a ticket in our system to have this updated in the plugin to use the timezone that is set within your WP admin area.

So it isn’t something we haven’t already thought about ??

I don’t have an exact ETA on when it will be fixed but it is in the list.

I fixed this here 978150, the new code will be available in the next version of the plugin 1.6.9, this update includes new options in the Settings and I recommend to go and check them.

    That is awesome!

“I fixed this here 978150, the new code will be available in the next version of the plugin 1.6.9, this update includes new options in the Settings and I recommend to go and check them.”

I have version 1.7.0 and the timestamp is still UTC and not my loacal time on some options such as “Failed Logins”, which are logging times that are future times, in other words, not a time which has happened yet.

Example: I login at 11:36 a.m. today and the “Failed Logins” report has failed logins occuring at 2:47 p.m. the same day (today) – which is a few hours in the future – so I am assuming that this part of the plugin still logs at UTC.

Also… is there supposed to be an option for setting the time-zone within the plugin, or does the plugin use the site’s settings for time-zone? If so, I do not see any option.

    Something for investigation, perhaps?

As I mentioned (and you pointed the same message) I changed all the dates processed in the code to use the local time provided by WordPress in that commit 978150. Check the settings in the Timezone Settings in your site.

    Version 1.7.0

UTC time is 2014-09-17 18:47:37 Local time is 2014-09-17 19:47:37

last plugin update (just about now +/- 5min):
    September 17, 2014 14:46

edit funny though that last system scan in siteinfo is showing UTC or local (can’t be sure as this was auto scan):
    Last filesystem scan September 17, 2014 18:46

1 – My Time Zone in WP Settings has always been set for Toronto :
    UTC time is 2014-09-19 11:36:50 – Local time is 2014-09-19 7:36:50

2 – Here is the time I logged in today :
    September 19, 2014 7:31 am

3 – Here is the Failed Logins I checked as soon as I logged in :
    admin 64.34.173.227 September 19, 2014 10:36 am
    [% tools.ua.random() %]

4 – Last entry from the Audit Log before I logged in :
    September 19, 2014 6:36 am – Notice: 64.34.173.227; User authentication failed: admin

A difference of 4 hours between the Failed Logins and the Audit Log, which is the difference between UTC and Toronto Time Zone.

Every section of the Sucuri plugin reflects my Time Zone time of 4 hours from UTC except for the Failed Logins section.
10:36 am Sept. 19th could not have happened for me yet if I logged in at 7:36 am.

I had deactivated all other plugins the night before to see if there was another plugin affecting the Sucuri plugin, and left them deactivated until after checking the Failed Logins.

    Time problem here, too.
Timezone Settings are set correctly UTC+1. Sucuri Auth Log shows me the events in UTC-5.
    Plugin Version used: 1.7.2

Only in the “Last Logins” section(/tab) time is shown correctly.

@b4dschk4pp have you tried installing the development version [1] of the plugin? I fixed several bugs during the last two months but they are not in the public release 1.7.2, so you may want to check the latest version of the code and see if that solves the issue.

    Hi Yorman,

    thanks for the quick reply.
I installed the dev version as you suggested, but Sucuri Security Plugin still uses UTC-5 everywhere except for “Last Logins” as i mentioned above.

@b4dschk4pp what is the timezone selected in Settings > General ?

@yorman: Timezone selected is UTC+1. (Pic)
Timezone shown in Sucuri is UTC-5. Pic

Hi, Yorman… I am using plugin “Sucuri Security – Auditing, Malware Scanner and Hardening”, Version Version 1.7.9. My WordPress Settings > General > TimeZone has been set to Los Angeles, but the logs show the UTC time, which makes it difficult, since I have to remember to subtract 7 hours for every log entry. I tried changing my WP settings TimeZone to UTC-7 to see if it would make a difference, then I tested by doing a failed login, but the logs still show the UTC time. I still do not see any settings within the plugin to set a time zone.
