I am getting this error message in the sidebar of one of my posts. This seems to have been an issue after I have upgraded to WP 3.0 and then the newer version, but I haven’t noticed it until now. I have checked with my host and they are not seeing any issues. I have changed the cache and subfolder to 777 and am hosting with Bluehost and the theme I am using is Infocus.

Fatal error: Using $this when not in object context in /home2/mandiell/public_html/cocoonwebdesign/wp-includes/default-widgets.php on line 537

    Any ideas?

  • First thing would be to make sure that you don’t have other non-cache files/directories which are set to 777. 777 permissions don’t work well with BlueHost as they are insecure and not liked by the server setup.

Next, get all the core WordPress files, or at least the files within wp-includes and re-upload all of them, overwriting the existing files.

If you still have troubles, try deactivating your plugins and switching your theme to the default theme and see if things work after doing that. Also try a google-search to see what others are doing to fix it: Google Search … Most people seem to be just fixing the core code, though I think re-uploading should do that if there are errors within it.
