    Upgraded to 3.3, front end works fine. Back end in Safari, the tool bar on the post editor won’t load. It just doesn’t show up, even with plugins turned off and Twenty Eleven as the theme.

    Inspector turns up this javascript error.

    TypeError: ‘undefined’ is not an object (evaluating ‘tinymce.baseURI.getURI’) – post.php:1065

    Safari version 5.06 (Mac OS X 10.5.8)

    Everything works fine in Firefox (9.0)

    FORGOT ONE IMPORTANT THING—-

    It’s a Network installation, and it works fine (in Safari) on all network sites EXCEPT the main site!

    Do you have any plugins in mu-plugins?

    MU plugins? Is that still possible after the convergence? I just checked, nothing there.

    I can confirm this is a problem, but I get different errors. Using Chrome on OS X:

    load-scripts.php:391Uncaught TypeError: Object function (a,b){return new e.fn.init(a,b,h)} has no method 'widget'
    load-scripts.php:62Uncaught TypeError: Object [object Object] has no method 'sortable'
    5/wp-admin/post.php?post=956&action=edit:551Uncaught TypeError: Cannot call method 'switchto' of undefined

    And using the latest Firefox for OS X:

    c.widget is not a function
    [Break On This Error] (function(c){var a=0,b=9999;c.widget("...lement:this.element},d)}})})(jQuery);
    load-s...320fc76 (line 391)
    a(".meta-box-sortables").sortable is not a function
    [Break On This Error] var postboxes,is_iPad=navigator.userAg...pbshow:false,pbhide:false}}(jQuery));
    load-s...320fc76 (line 62)

    And this completely breaks JavaScript for the post editor. I have nothing but Akismet turned on and Twenty Eleven is the theme.

    Flush your browser cache. I know, I know. But I can’t reproduce this for the life on me.

    Flushed and logged out and quit the browser and relaunched, still the same problem. Maybe I’ll try a restart. Absurd, but I have to try.

    I can’t reproduce it for the life of me, and I use a Mac with Safari all the time.

    Did you try manually reinstalling the core WP files?

    I banged my head against the wall for a while and finally decided to upgrade my OS to 10.6 – and the issue is resolved.
