• Hello – I have upgraded my WP to version 2.5.1 and have installed the TinyMCE advanced plugin. After activating the plugin I could arrange the user menu as I wanted. But when I restart WP and try to work with the TinyMCE advanced editor nothing happens.

Emptying the browser buffer as described in other posts doesn’t help. The editor in WP seems to be a classical HTML editor and not TinyMCE as described in the WP 2.5.1 documentation.
Could it be that somewhere in the installtion a file is missing or got lost?
You can see my page at https://www.innovationwings.ch/weblog/wordpress/.

I would appreciate if somebody could give me a hint where to continue to search for a solution – thank you.

  • Hi there, I’m using 2.5.1 with tiny MCE advanced, it seems to work fine.
You should have the visual and html buttons as normal.
If you go into visual mode, below that you have a button, if you hover it says show/hide kitchen sink, click this and you should have your advanced toolbar.
    hope this helps.
    mike.

Hello Mike – thank your for your suggestion. Hm, I can’t change between visual and html buttons – there are only html buttons. Do I have to choose this somewhere in a menu?

Well, here is the simple solution for a complicated problem:
To tell TinyMCE advanced is has to work, in the user profile is the first position “Use the visual editor when writing”. I made a tick there and “tada” everything worked.

Hi again, glad to hear it worked.
    I should have mentioned that.
    all the best. mike.
