• Hi,

While I, as the admin, do see the TinyMCE button “Attach NextGEN Gallery to Post”, the authors on my web-site don’t see it. The authors have a special role called “Redakteur”. The access rights for “TinyMCE Button / Upload Tab:” is set to this role “Redakteur”.
Do I understand it correctly, that this custom role is the root of the problem and NextGEN does not support custom roles? Will it support custom roles in the future? What can I do to work-around this limitation? Changing the users’ role is not an option, because it would cause problems with our single-sign-on solution.

    Regards

@tiku – Currently NextGEN Gallery does support the default WordPress user roles … we cannot guarantee any custom roles will be supported.

Please feel free to send us a Bug Report (https://nextgen-gallery.com/report-bug/ … please reference this topic) so we can get a better look under the page.

We may need log in (and FTP) credentials for your WordPress installation, please include those with your Bug Report, too … or at the least a complete reference to the custom role solution you are trying to employ.

    Thanks!

By replacing line 292 in /products/photocrati_nextgen/modules/security/package.module.security.php with if (TRUE) {, I disabled the security check for inserting the TinyMCE button. Now users with this special role can see and use it.
