    Hi

I have used drupal in the past and am trying wordpress out for the first time. I create a word press installation using AWS lightsail wordpress instance. This installs a Bitnami stack (httpd, mysql, php7) on linux

I upgrade to word press 5.0.2 and tried to install tinyMCE Advanced. I activated it however when I create a new page it looks like some other editor is being used?

I have tried deleting and reinstalling tinyMCE

I have not done anything this this instance. I thinking about just deleting it and starting again.

    Any suggestions?

    thanks

    Andy

  • If you don’t already know, WordPress 5 comes with a new editor called Gutenberg.
One easy workaround is to install the Classic Editor plugin. This will allow Tiny MCE and disable Gutenberg, or allow you to switch between Classic and Gutenberg.

Perhaps there is an easier way by changing the Settings in Tiny MCE, but it wasn’t obvious to me. You can also learn how to make this change in your code, likely in functions.php, by researching how to disable Gutenberg.

TinyMCE Advanced 5.0 (latest release) should work for both editors now ??
