• The TinyMCE toolbar (the Bold, Italic, Lists, Alignments buttons) is reversed in RTL sites after upgrading to 4.6.

Here is how it should look, and here is how it actually looks.

From looking a little in the Firefox Dev Tools, it seems that the direction and text-align definitions given to .mce-container, .mce-container * override those given to [dir="rtl"].

Is there something to do about this?

To rule out any plugins/theme conflict, try:
    – deactivating ALL (yes all) plugins temporarily to see if this resolves the problem (plugin functions can interfere). If this works, re-activate them individually (one-by-one) to find the problematic plugin(s).
resetting the plugins folder by FTP.
    – switching to the unedited default Theme (Twenty Sixteen, etc.) for a moment using the WP dashboard to rule out any theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).

    Hi Tara,

    Thanks for your reply.

Since this happened on 3 of our sites, each of which have different themes and different plugins, I’m quite sure it’s not plugin or theme related.
But just to make sure – I installed a fresh copy of WordPress 4.6 in Hebrew on one of our development servers, and the problem persists, so my suspicions are confirmed – it has nothing to do with any third party code.

Interesting info: One of my sites gets the latest nightly build, and I see that the problem is fixed there. The version is 4.7-alpha-38455.
    Does this help?

4.6.1 should be released in a week or so. That update might fix the issue then.

    Ok, I’ll wait and see
