Tips to be safe from hackers

Sorry for the maybe silly question, I am pretty new with WordPress. I would like to ask, what can I do as a website owner who does not know too much about coding, to safeguard my site against getting hacked? I have backups set up, but other than that, I did not do anything yet. What kind of plugins/systems/etc do you usually use?
