  • I found this too when using Chrome. Rolled back to before updates until either they get this version right or I find another SEO

It disappears only when it’s auto generated text, if you type it yourself and save, the next time you click it you should have your text.

    That’s how it should work.

I disagree that it totally disappearing is how it should work. I see a lot of folks forget to type in the rest of the template info, like the separator and the site title.

Why make folks start over from scratch every time?

For me, it doesn’t appear even on brand new posts. I am not able to set the meta title or description at all!

I agree with BlogAid. Why would I want to retype the whole entry if I really only want to change one letter?

In previous versions the meta description was always empty (for new posts), so i don’t see the problem (unless it disappears for older posts where you manually set the meta description).

The auto generated text is probably what search engines would display in their results if there were no meta description set.

It always disappears, auto generated or manual. I don’t understand why I would want it to completely disappear. As it is I have to completely retype everything to amend just one letter, Hardly work saving, Its always easier to delete than retype

With the old version, at least you had the chance to copy the whole thing and paste it into the empty field where you could then tweak.

If it disappears for manually added meta description then that’s a bug.

I just updated my site to 3.0.5 from 2.3.5 and all my old meta description is fine and stays there when i click it, tested in latest stable versions of
    Opera, Chrome and Firefox.

As for copying the auto generated text, you can just copy from the post editor.
