I’m trying to use the Genesis Responsive Slider in my sidebar, and the images look/work great, but the titles all overlap. The semi-transparent box behind the text runs into the next picture, and you never get all of the text onto one slide. I’ve tried playing around with the width excerpt adjustment, but it doesn’t seem to work. (Maybe I’m not entering the right percentage?) The size of my slider is 327×200. I just switched themes, and before I had the regular Genesis Slider (at that size) and it worked (although I’m having the same problems when I try using THAT slider now too!). Any suggestions? (The more specific the better, as I’m a newbie!) Thanks!

The font size you have on the title is way to large for the size of the slider. You can change the font size for the slider in your theme’s style.css.

Hi Ron, thanks for responding ?? I changed the size to make the font super small, but I’m still having the same problem with the white boxes behind the text. On some slides it looks like there’s a darker white box sitting on top of the more transparent white background. And in some slides the transparent/white backgrounds are still overlapping with the next – even though the text is super small and more than fits on one single slide.

(Also, there’s a light gray outline around the text boxes that – I’m not sure where to go to remove that? I never saw it on my previous theme with Genesis Slider)

THe title background/border can also be changed through CSS in you child theme style.css.

I’m sorry, I can’t seem to find what you’re talking about in the style.css? The transparent background is fine – and what showed up with Genesis Slider when I used it before – but there are non-transparent white backgrounds overlapping the more transparent background, with gray borders. Is there somewhere or something in particular in the style.css I should be looking for to change that?

Also, there’s still the same problem with the excerpt backgrounds overlapping with the next – even though the font is very small. I’ve left it up at the bottom of the sidebar at: https://prayersandapples.com/blog . What should I do about the overlapping issue?

Thank you for all of your help and sorry to be a bother. I really appreciate you taking the time to respond!

You need to add new css to your theme’s stylesheet.

It does not exist, you have ot add it to make modifications to the slider styling.
