Title color and subtitle color in Custom Template is ignored

Hi @ubergiant,

I’ve checked this on my installation and the colors were changing for me as soon as I chose a different palette without making additional changes.
Could you share an URL where we can see your Slide-in so we can check if there’s anything on your site overriding the set colors?

Given the issue in https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/slide-in-showing-on-unwanted-pages/, I’d prefer to not have the slide-in running for potentially days as it currently can’t be controlled on page-by-page level. But if you must see, I can.

To test and show you, there is no CSS within the website that is overriding the set colors: https://i.imgur.com/41MDJvH.png. On top of that, the slide-in preview within the plugin (so no theme files) has the same incorrect styling issue using the color #ADB5B7. There is no custom CSS in the slide-in appearance settings that sets the color.

The only way I’ve been able to control the color is to customize the color template

I’d love to help you with that but I’m also not able to replicate this. There is actually a “limited” set of colors used for title/sub-title in those ready palettes but they do change for me as well in every case – as expected.

This is, when I check with “Use Default Colors” option (right below the palette selection”) enabled. If the “Customize” option is selected then it also changes but I can additionally set my own color by selecting it in “Content” section settings.

I’m not really sure what’s happening here but without seeing it live I’m afraid we also got limited options here. I understand that you’d rather not keep the slide-in there running as long as that other issue isn’t address so perhaps you got some sort of a staging/dev site where you can replicate the issue and keep slide-in showing up there so we could see and check it?

You support the app well. To help, I’ve published a slide-in. A second one is disabled because they would both appear due to the bug mentioned.

“Use Default Colors” is selected for it. The title and sub-title are suppose to be #fff. You can see it pop-up after 10 seconds at https://www.digitaldarts.com.au/google-shopping

I’ve visited the page and checked the “Get Your Free Google Ads…” slide-in which, indeed, uses the #ADB5B7 color. So, I can see the issue there, assuming that #FFF is set, but it’s different to what I could replicate on my own test setup.

I’d like to take a closer look at that slide-in itself. For each slide-in there’s an “Export” option that you can access by clicking on a little “gear” icon on slide-ins list in plugin.

Would you export such affected popup or slide-in from your site and share with us here? (note: please mark it as code using “code” tool of this message editor here) It might help in finding out why it’s working like that.

I apologize for late reply. I’ve imported the slide-in that you have shared and having a hard time replicating this issue. The Title and Subtitle are showing up with #fff color. And after further testing, loading a custom palette and using custom Title and Subtitle colors, these are always changed.

Would you please make suet that you are using the latest version of the Hustle plugin?

I see that you have a caching/optimization plugin. Does this issue still persist, when clearing all site’s cache?

I would not think it’s a cache issue because the same appearance/issue occurs when previewing the slide-in within the admin. No cache/optimization plugin is used. The theme has a variety of caching/optimizing options though all of which I disabled to test. There was no change.

Hustle is the latest version at 7.1.0.

Can you, if possible, run a plugin/theme conflict test by following the steps from the flowchart:

I’ve imported your Slide-in on two more test sites and both are displaying the correct color.
Could you check if the values in your database are correct?
You can find them in wp_hustle_modules_meta table, edit the meta_value for the ID of your slide-in and check what values are set for “title_color” and “subtitle_color”, if you don’t see #ffffff try saving the settings of your slide-in again and try clearing any Object Caching or similar type of server side caching and see if the changes are applied after that.
