Hello, I have recently migrated from wordpress.com to www.ads-software.com with my podcasts website. I have had the podcast up and running for two years on iTunes with no problems and am now running my podcast through Seriously Simple Podcasting. My podcast title is Cool Canadian History…when i go to the podcast on the iTunes store it now has the heading as “Podcasts – Cool Canadian History” and below that it shows “Unknown >” I know that I have a category on my wordpress site called “podcasts” could this somehow be showing up in the title on iTunes?

    Thank you

What have you got filled in on the Feed Details area of the Podcast -> Settings page? That’s where you can change the name and description of the podcast, which otherwise would default to the name of the site and the description, which may not be set in your case.

Hi thank you for the response. In the Feed Details I have in the title “Cool Canadian History” yet it shows up in iTunes as “Podcasts – Cool Canadian History” My description and all other details in the feed details section are filled in appropriately. I’m not sure what the “Unknown” refers to…the author name, subtitle, description etc are all filled in accordingly. Thanks for your help.

As a follow up I recently migrated from wordpress.com to www.ads-software.com and I am now having quite a few issues with the podcast. My title is incorrectly displayed, my cover art is blurry (even though my image meets the minimum pixel requirements), the episode summaries (excerpts) are all gone and are now replaced with url links. I am still able to post new episodes (incredibly) but it all looks highly unprofessional now. Is there any way you can help me with troubleshooting these issues?

    Hi @dborys1,

    I’m sorry for the delay.

This user had a similar issue to you – https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/apple-podcasts-tells-me-it-cant-read-my-feed/

    1. Please can you tell me what is the size of the cover art you are using?
    2. Please can you set your excerpt length inside your WordPress dashboard > Settings > Reading

Regarding your headings, is the only issue that the word podcasting - is added as a prefix to your titles?

Please let me know if this helps.

    Hi Andrew,

The cover art is 1400×1401 pixels.

In regards to headings, that is correct, the word “Podcasts” is added in the title

    Thanks,

    David

    Hi Andrew,

New problem now. When I go to my podcast’s Facebook page and click on a link to my podcast episodes on my website I received this error message:

Warning: require_once(includes/class-podmotor-handler.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home1/coolcana/public_html/wp-content/plugins/seriously-simple-podcasting/seriously-simple-podcasting.php on line 38

Fatal error: require_once(): Failed opening required ‘includes/class-podmotor-handler.php’ (include_path=’.:/opt/php70/lib/php’) in /home1/coolcana/public_html/wp-content/plugins/seriously-simple-podcasting/seriously-simple-podcasting.php on line 38

What is going on here? Is there any hope to fix this or should I perhaps be looking to a new plug in to assist me?
