Background color for the text:
Sure.
For example if you are using the Heading Layer:

At the Layer Window, on its Design tab:

you can set a background color under STYLE – HEADING.

Position:
If your layers are added in Content mode:
The problem will most likely be related to the Vertical align option of the Content Layer:

what you need to set to Top.

If your layers are added in Canvas mode:
You probably set the Vertical align of the layer to top. But in Canvas mode, this point will be a relative point where the Position Y will be calculated from. So in this case if your Vertical align is set to top, setting the Position Y to 0 will make the layer appear top.

how can I make the sliders move regardless where I have the mouse.

I enabled the automatic option but it’s not moving. Thank you.

you can find a “Stop autoplay on” option. You should change the ‘Mouse’ to ‘Off’ and then the hovering won’t stop the autoplay.
