• I am working on a brand new site. I am using generatepress for the theme. I went into the typography section and picked a google font for the body text, and another google font for the headings (I selected the same one for h1, h2, and h3.) Please note this is a font that is already built in, I did not have to add it in via PHP.

The change took effect for the body and headings throughout my site except in one strange place: the title that shows in the header area on my pages.

So, if you go to the top-level domain (like, https://www.mywebsite.com) the title in the header uses the font I selected, as desired. However, if you go to https://www.mywebsite.com/page – then the title in the header is using the default font that generatepress has set by default. The rest of the content on the pages (headings and body text throughout the articles) are using my selected fonts as desired.

Any ideas on what is going wrong / how to fix this?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  • Hi,

Any chance you could link us to the site/page in question so we could check?

If its working on some parts of the page but not all, then that means the font is being loaded correctly.

That said, it may be a CSS issue. Perhaps a Custom CSS is setting up a font-family property somewhere in your site.

Is there a way I can PM you the link?

Also, I have not done anything custom with CSS to be clear. (I don’t know if generatepress automatically does something like this though.)

Where would I find / be able to check for a custom css?

Literally I just installed wordpress, picked the theme, installed it, and made a couple of pages. I haven’t added any plugins, all I have done is minor customization via the appearance options in the theme (colors, typography, made a few changes to remove unwanted widgets, etc.)
