HI Oliver, I would like to set the title i want for the main image on the page. I want to display a custom title, not the tagline of the site. Eliminate the text on the image completely could be another option. In that case I could upload a jpg with the text over the photo. I read the user manual but i didn’t get the banner_text custom field explanation. Can’t find where to create a custom field. My intention is to display whatever title i want and not the title of a post, for example.

Sorry for my english ?? Hope you understand me.

    Thanks!

  • Hi,

You’ve mentioned there is a tagline displayed on your homepage banner. This means you are either displaying blog posts or static page on your website’s front page.

Please note that if you are displaying blog posts, there is no way to change the banner text. It will display either tagline or a slideshow of posts if you set featured posts.

If you, however, are displaying a static page as your front page, you can set up the banner_text custom field for this page to override the banner text. In theme user manual you can find the link on how to use custom fields, but you can have a look at this video too: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bsoHtNvE9YU

hi again Oliver, i have a static page as front page. i cant′t figure out how to setup the banner_text custom field to override the text ( i want the image only, no text). i tried with advanced custom fields plugin and with it i was able to set a custom banner text (different to site tagline). BUT, if i leave the text field empty, then the site displays the site tagline as the banner text and not just the image without text. i tried to follow the video you provided me but wordpress doesn′t let me leave the value field empty when i try to create the banner_text custom field.

    thank you very much!

    Hi Pablo,

Please note that this is a new issue and you should log a new ticket for it. Otherwise it’s very hard to track what is resolved and what is not. Thank you for understanding.

Your issue can be resolved this way: https://support.webmandesign.eu/forums/topic/hide-tagline/

    Regards,

    Oliver

Sorry about that Oliver, and thank you, the code you provided me to hide the tagline works wonderful!.
