Title tags issues in Buddypress Members pages with WordPress SEO activated
-
Hi,
I have a WordPress/Buddypress site with WordPress SEO installed.
There seems to be something conflicting between WordPress SEO and Buddypress in the management of the title tags (titles in the head section) of the Members pages, which all share the same title tag: Members | sitename.
That means that my default member page, or the page of a different member, or the page of my profile, or the page of my notifications or whatever page included in the https://www.sitename.com/members directory share this title: Members | sitename.
Deactivating WordPress SEO the Members pages get a different name. My default page for example is called Marco | Activity Streams | sitename. My profile name is Marco | Extended profiles | sitename.
Strangely enough, the Forums page are fine even with the plugin activated and they show different title tags.
Could you please help me to understand how I can keep using WordPress SEO while at the same time having different title tags for the Members pages?
Assuming we are able to fix this, I would also like to know if I can customize through WordPress SEO the title tags using templates. For example, I would like my deafult member page (www.sitename.com/members/marco) to display a title tag like this: Marco’s page | sitename. My profile page (www.sitename.com/members/marco/profile/profile/) could have a title such as Marco’s Profile | sitename. John’s page should have this title: John’s Page | sitename, John’s notifications page should have this title: John’s Notifications | sitename etc.
I have tried using templates like %%name%% – %%sitename%% but I just see Marco | sitename in all the titles of all the Members pages.
