    Hello Janwill,

    Yoast SEO supports using emojis as long as your WordPress installation supports them. However, you must insert these characters using the native OS tools as shown in this guide: https://www.ads-software.com/support/article/emoji/.

    Thanks!

    @janwill To use an emoji, the database must be able to save them in the correct format. Please check that your database collation support saving emojis. The database (and the corresponding tables and entries) should support 4 byte collations with ‘utf8mb4’.

    If you are unsure how to check this, please contact your server admin or webhost.

    Hi Carl B

    yes, the database has utf8mb4_unicode_ci and in the wp-config is

    define(‘DB_CHARSET’, ‘utf8mb4’);

    After a few houra of testing, I can say it`s the combi between visual composer last version and the plugin wordpress seo – last version too…

    If I deactived the visual composer everything is fine.

    Do you hear about this issues?

    @janwill Thanks for your reply. We aren’t aware of any current issue with Visual Composer and the Yoast SEO plugin that causes this issue. Can you please confirm you are using the most recent version of Yoast SEO, version 15.5 and the current version of Visual Composer? You can learn more about updating here: https://kb.yoast.com/kb/how-can-i-update-my-free-plugin/

    Also, can you confirm you are using WordPress 5.6? You can check by clicking on the W in the top left and selecting About. If you need to update, please check with your host provider. Please know that if you are using an older version of WordPress Core you may experience unexpected behavior with Yoast. This guide explains more: https://yoast.com/why-we-dont-support-old-wordpress-versions/
