    Hi Experts,

Please, the main tittle of a product created by wordpress. (I can not edit to H1 or H2) is just to fill the attribute. I supposed is a H1 but my agency is saying this is a H2???
There is a problem then cause seems SemRush is not detecting that as a H1 and then is not indexing good with the keyword.

and help or how can I change from H2 to H1 ?

    thanks,
    Joaquín

    Hi @joaquin2019 !

Are you using a custom or third-party theme on your site?

The heading size & types are usually handled by the theme, in case you have a default one like Storefront or with the block editor here is a short screencast on how to do that: https://d.pr/i/DwDTml meanwhile if you use a custom/third-party one please check the documentation of that theme ??

    Thank you!

    Hi Raif D. a11n (@rdeari),

I’m using the Porto theme for wordpress. Not a third Party. My theme says “Unfortunately there is no such option in our theme for it, so you have to change it in the code as per your requirements.”

I know from block editor I can change, but the block Editor don’t let me to change the text parameters in the main Tittle. See please snap:

Is possible to put that in H1 instead of H2? Can you tell me how?

    thanks,
    Joaquín

    Hello,

Did you try the solution presented by Rdeari? If so please let us know what was the result?

Can you please provide a link to the product Vela de Limpieza Negra Ritualizada | Cera de abeja 100%?

So that we can take a look, thanks.

    Hi Igor H a11n (@ihereira)

Yes of course link is: https://www.candleart.es/vela-limpieza-negra/

    My theme told me:
Please go to wp-content >> themes >> porto >> and edit page.php and search for the H2 tag and replace it with H1 as shown in this screenshot.

    The yoast tell me:
    Check H1 with this tool:
    https://www.seoptimer.com/h1-checker?
Is H1 confirmed with this tool.

But now with this other tool (https://sitechecker.pro/es/) able to check all tittles show there is the H1 (1 time) and duplicated the same 2 times as H2.
    https://www.candleart.es/Captura1.JPG

Now I can understand the agency of publicity when told me my tittle is H2.

Please can you tell me please what to do for this duplicity of H1 and H2 ??? or what happens please? I understand is not good for the seo.

    thanks,

    Hi @joaquin2019

I have checked the source code of your page https://www.candleart.es/vela-limpieza-negra/, and confirmed that your product’s name shows up once as an H1 tag and twice as H2 tags.

Since you’re using a copy protection plugin, it’s not easy to inspect the page and tell where exactly is each tag. They could be associated with different elements like navigation items, breadcrumbs, related products, widgets, or possibly from an SEO plugin.

In any case, I wouldn’t worry too much about that. Having a header duplicated a couple of times is not necessarily bad for SEO. The exception would be having two H1 tags, which can be considered an invalid HTML structure.

If you still want to dig deeper and try to remove those tags, as a first step you can perform a conflict test. This will allow you to determine what is the role of the theme and of the plugins on generating each tag.

    Hi Berg a11n (@hegenberg),

Thank you so much for your reply.

Honestly I don’t have too much experience in code, and don’t have stage server.
But I have deactivated the protection pluggin. Maybe you with a couple of minuts you can see what is happening exactly with the duplicity of H1 and H2.?

    thanks a lot,
    Joaquín

    Hi @joaquin2019

I used another free tool (https://www.seoreviewtools.com/html-headings-checker/) that detects headings. When checking this page using that tool, I do see the duplicate H2’s.

However, when I check a product page of my test site, there are no duplicates.

That said, I believe those H2’s are added by another plugin. The best way to check that is to perform a conflict test as @hegenberg suggested.

You can find a more detailed explanation on how to do a conflict test here: https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/how-to-test-for-conflicts/
