TLS 1.2 supported by WordPress?

  • Hi,
    just received from my hoster an info for a migration from TLS 1.0/1.1 to 1.2.
    I use a simple wordpress installation with premium theme.
    Will the migration to TLS 1.2 will bug my WordPress website?

    WordPress is SSL/TLS version agnostic, if your webhost software supports it – there will be no problem.

    Regarding the migration, it is assumed that your hoster already took all measures in configuring their software to use new versions of TLS.
    TLS 1.0 and TLS 1.1 are quite old and are already retired by IETF standarts,
    however they can be still used by old devices (smartphones, tablets) whos owners will be unable to reach your site (along many other sites on the Net).
