• I am new to WordPress and like many, the task of choosing a theme has been very difficult. What makes it hard is I am new to learning and am unsure of how far you can take a free theme.

    In your opinion,
    – what are some of the most customizable Free Themes?
-Are things a whole lot easier (esp for the newbie) if you just purchase from somewhere (elegant themes?genesis?etc?)

For my site, I am going for a site/blog hybrid (aka doesn’t look bloggy).

    Thank you! Kayla Cait

Sometimes I think I have found the theme, then I realize I can’t make it do what I want it to…either from lack of knowledge or lack of customize options.

www.ads-software.com forums do not support commercial themes. Once you purchase a theme, you are dependent on the theme’s vendors for support.

Commercial themes don’t necessarily get you more and are sometimes harder to customize or work with because they are more complicated. They are also not supported here so make sure they have good support from the vendor or developer. Virtually all free themes on this site are VERY customizable. I’d suggest that you just jump in and start with a free theme and learn more about how WP works — you can always change themes later.
